Dear Orting Valley Fire and Rescue Resident,

OVFR would like to thank all the voters for passing our 2 lid lifts.  This election will allow our levy’s to stabilize for the next 6 years.  The passage of the levy’s will allow the district to address many of our strategic goals.

OVFR is committed to providing you high quality service every day.   In 2017 we ran 2080 calls, an increase of 35% since 2010.

We will still be working on completing our strategic plan goals.  Those goals include:

  • Long term solution to headquarters station-Purchased from the City on 1/1/2018

  • Stabilize the Fire levy- Passed 8/7/2018

  • Stabilize the EMS levy-Passed 8/7/2018

  • Increase staffing to address rising call volumes-begin in 2019

  • Replenish reserves-end of 2018

  • Start an apparatus replacement plan-begin in 2019

  • Explore opportunities with our partner agencies-ongoing

As always, if you have questions or concerns, please come see me at the fire station.  Additionally, fire commissioner meetings are generally the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of the month.  The schedule is posted below.

Again, thank you for your support of your fire department.

    Sincerely,

    Zane Gibson, Fire Chief
